Golden eyes

The man with golden eyes

Color of aged whiskey

And as potent

Intoxicatingly warm.

Topaz eyes shine

Honey sun-warmed amber

And I helpless am imprisoned

Caught in the web of their depths.

The entire world in one look

Sorrow, joy, love, laughter

Tender promises flash and flicker

If one looks deep enough.

Laughing they dance openly

Twinkling shared glances

Never fail to bring me

Smiles in return.

Such tawny, smoky eyes

Smolder with emotion

Passion driven desires

Tiger proud burning bright.

Sorrow and  pain

Darken them to chocolate

Chips of diamond black steel angered,

Soften to molten gold for me.

Let me drown in them

Gaze for gaze

Blue to gold

Soul to soul - endlessly.

I've been seduced, snared,

Captured and enraptured

In all the ways a woman can be

By a pair of golden eyes.
