Odd feeling – to know that those you care for are battling Rita
and be staring at sunny warm skies.  Odd
too to be the out-of-state contact and not be able to get thru the busy
circuits to Texas on a land line while hearing about the devistation being visted where loved ones are. Technology is at best, a mixed blessing.  
 Thank the Goddess for cellular phones
(which were useless during the Loma Prieta Earthquake) yet work flawlessly during
Rita…go figure while land lines crackle and fizz..

Thank the Gods that all that I’ve heard from are well…. Still
have not heard from Michael in New Orleans or Aaron
or Eric in Texas.
 I am optimistic that they are alive and
well wherever they may be and the lack of contact is due to forces beyond their
control.

One hell of a week end – more on that later.
