The Man is a source of constant amazement at times.  He stoutly maintained that Hurricane Ike would miss us.  Ok he was right and I will be glad to give him that. 

What many people don''t know about The Man is this: 

Who helped me in the preparations should we be hit by Ike?  The Man did.

Who helped our neighbors get ready for Ike?  The Man did. 

Who stayed an extra shift at work to make sure that the other woman cashier was ok and didn't get over run by evacuees?  The Man did.

Who kept the store open extra late for evacuees who's kids needed to go to the bathroom? The Man did.

He did all this quietly and without asking for anything in return.  But no, he wasn't worried about Ike.  That is the measure of The Man.  It is what he does.
